Introducing the Evolve Tennis player pathway

Hi Parents,

As we prepare for the new term, we’re delighted to introduce the Evolve Tennis Player Pathway — a simple way for players and parents to understand how our junior programme develops from Red Ball at 6–7 years right through to U16 tennis.

Every player develops differently, and not every child has the same goals. That’s why our programme offers two pathways:

DEVELOPMENT PATHWAY

For players who want to learn, improve, make friends and enjoy their tennis. The focus is on building strong fundamentals, confidence and a genuine love of the game.

SQUAD PATHWAY — INVITATION ONLY

For players who are ready for a more competitive training environment. The focus moves towards technique, movement, purposeful training, matchplay and tournament competition.

Players progress through:

Red | 6–7 years

Orange | 8–9 years

Green | 10 years

U12 | 11–12 years

U14 | 13–14 years

U16 | 15–16 years

Our aim is not simply to move children from one colour or age group to the next.

We want every player to be in the right environment, at the right stage of their development, whether their goal is to enjoy tennis socially, represent the club, compete in tournaments or see how far they can take their game.

Most importantly, we want them to enjoy the journey.

Please take a look at our new Player Pathway graphic attached — it gives you a simple overview of how the programme fits together.

If you’re unsure which group or pathway is right for your child for the new term, please get in touch with the Evolve coaching team and we’ll be very happy to advise.

See you on court,

The Evolve Tennis Team
