Reminder Elm Park Junior Summer Championships 2020

Dear Parent / Guardian

We have extended the closing date for the Junior Summer Championships to tomorrow, Friday 24th July.

If you have not already regsitered your child please register them in the link below as soon as possible.


In light of covid 19 and the restrictions around social distancing the Junior Adult Committee have decided to run a number of competitions during the summer months. Instead of the Hardcourt and Grasscourt Championships it has been decided that a single competition will be run which will combine a round robin stage followed by a knockout phase.


For each of the age groups U10, U12, U14 and U18 junior members will be split into groups of 5-6 players of similar level.

Over a 2.5-week period the players must arrange and play matches against each other.


For U10s the match will consist of 12 games and a tie break to 7 win by 2 points.


For U12 - U18 normal Championship rules of best of three sets applies. (3rd set is only a Championship Tie Break, first to 10 win by 2 points).


At the end of the group stages, depending on the number registered the top two players in each group will go through to the knockout stages.


If players are not available for the knockout stages then the next players down go through

Details will vary depending on the age group.

Start of Junior Summer Championships: Monday 27th July with Finals day on Thursday 20th Aug 2020.

If players are not available for Finals day they are encouraged to play in the group stages anyway.

Entry Fee: €7 per child.

We will circulate the groups on Sunday 26th July and the Summer Championships round robins will start on Monday 27th July to be completed by Saturday 15th August, knockout stages after this with finals on Thursday 20th August.
