We are excited to outline the Junior Tennis programme during the school Easter holidays (Monday 3rd April to Friday 14th April inclusive). We encourage our junior members to participate in the events below to have fun, meet other members and develop their tennis skills.

Week 1: Supervised Tennis and Junior Hardcourt Handicap Championships
Easter Supervised Tennis
Monday 3rd April to Friday 7th April inclusive between 10am and 4pm
We are pleased to offer supervised tennis during the first week of the Easter school holidays. This is a great opportunity for Junior tennis members to spend the day participating in fun tennis games, meeting new and existing friends and to play in the clubs annual Junior Hardcourt Handicap Championships which takes place during the same week.
Supervised tennis will run between 10am and 4pm each day at a cost of EUR15 per child per day. We plan to issue electronic payment details soon with the full fee payable in advance on a first come first served basis. There is a limit of 24 juniors per day that can attend the supervised tennis programme.

Junior Hardcourt Handicap Championships
Monday 3rd April to Friday 7th April inclusive
The Junior Hardcourt Handicap Championships have been running for the last few years and have been a success. We encourage as many of our Juniors to participate in the Championships.
The Championships will run from Monday 3rd April as an elimination so the players will need to be available each day if they get through to the next round, with the Championship finals being held on Friday 7th April.
Categories consist of Boys & Girls, singles and doubles over the various age groups. If you don’t have a partner for the doubles, we will endeavour to allocate one to you.
Entry fee: 1 Event: €7, 2 Events: €12

We plan to issue electronic payment details in the near future with the closing date for registration and payment being Sunday 26th March 2023.
The Junior Handicaps will work as follows:
For U9 to U18 events, each player will be given a Handicap based on Internal round robins, leagues, tournaments, and observation from the coaching team. Handicaps will be set at -30, -15, Scratch (0-0), +15 and +30. For doubles we will also base the Handicaps on the same criteria as the singles of each partner. The U9 events will be a tie-break points system.
Supervisors will be on hand during that week to help all.
Rob Cherry, Tennis Professional will be working closely with the Junior Committee on the rankings for the Juniors for the Handicaps.

Week 2: Fun Easter Tennis Camp and Junior Tennis Social Easter Egg Hunt
Fun Easter Tennis Camp
Tuesday 11th April to Friday 14th April inclusive between 11am and 1pm.
Rob Cherry and Victoria Gaidau are running a Fun Easter Tennis Camp for 8 to 12 year olds at Elm Park from Tuesday 11th April to Friday 14th April.
The camp will run from 11am to 1pm each day.
Camps are available to members and non-members. Cost is €80 for members and €90 for non-members for the 4 days, paid by cash to Rob & Victoria on the first day. Spaces are limited to 18 juniors. If a junior cannot attend the full 4 days of the camp, the full fee is still required.
THESE CAMPS ARE AIMED TOWARDS SOCIAL AND DEVELOPMENT OF PLAYERS. LOTS OF FUN, SKILLS DEVELOPMENT AND MATCH PRACTICE.

Easter Egg Hunt Tennis Social
Friday 14th April between 1pm and 3pm
Junior Captains Emily McCarthy and Hugh Kearney are hosting their Easter Egg Hunt Tennis Social event on Friday 14th April from 1pm to 3pm. All juniors are welcome for a great afternoon of fun tennis games including the Easter Egg hunt.
