Grasscourt Graded Championships 2021- Sponsored by Sandymount Hotel

Dear Member,

The Senior Grasscourt Graded Championships, sponsored by Sandymount Hotel will run from Friday 9th July with Finals on Sunday 25th July. Closing date for entries is Sunday 4th July

Due to time constraints on the courts, the committee have decided to go with two different formats for the Championships and Graded Events.

· The Singles and Doubles Championships will be the best of 3 sets with the 3rd set been played as a Championship Tiebreak. Long deuce in all games

· The Singles and Doubles Graded event and the Mixed Championships will be the played as the “Fast F4” Format.

The Fast4 format is simple with four rules:

There are no advantage scores,
Lets are played,
Tie-breakers apply at three games all, tie break to 5 win by 1 point.
First to four games wins the set.

The Senior Grasscourt Graded Championships Events this year is as follows:

Singles Championships Event

· Men’s Championship Singles Event: Winter League Class 1, 3,& 4 (2020)

· Ladies Championship Singles Event: Winter League Class 3 & 5 (2020)

· Men’s Under 21 Singles: Born 2000 or Later

· Ladies Under 21 Singles: Born 2000 or Later

Doubles Championships Event

· Men’s Championship Doubles: Winter League Class 1, 3 & 4 (2020)

· Ladies Championship Doubles: Winter League Class 3 & 5 (2020)

You may nominate your own partner for the doubles events OR we can allocate you a partner (if available)

Graded Events

Men’s Graded Singles: Winter League Class 6, 7 (2020) & Non League OR over 50 ( Born before 9th July 1971)

· Ladies Graded Singles: Winter League Class 6, 7 (2020) & Non League

· Men’s Graded Doubles: Winter League Class 6, 7 (2020) & Non league OR Over 50 (Born before 9th July 1971)

· Ladies Graded Doubles: Winter League Class 6, 7 (2020) & Non league

Mixed Doubles Championships

· Mixed Championship All Classes & Non League

You may nominate your own partner for the doubles and Mixed doubles events OR we can allocate you a partner (if available)

There will be a plate in the Mixed Doubles Championships event

Entry Fee

€10 for 1 Event

€15 for 2 Events

€20 for 3 Events

Members can play in any three events that they are eligible for.

U 21 can also enter 2 other events.

Please Note: Events will only go ahead if there are 4 or more entries.

All matches must be played by the dates specified for each round in the Tournament Software.

The Senior Grasscourt Graded Championships are open to Junior Members aged 14 on or before 31st December 2020.

Please submit your entry below and put entry fee in an envelope with your name in the tennis box in the Inner hallway of the Club House. (At Tennis Notice Board) by 4th July.
