Updated COVID-19 Protocols from 24th December

Dear Member,

Please see message below from Tennis Ireland regarding updated COVID-19 Protocols from 24th December.

************

You will probably have heard by now that the Government, earlier today, announced a move to Level 5 Restrictions from 24th December.

Thankfully, the Level 5 restrictions have been amended on this occasion in that they will allow Tennis and other sporting activities to remain open subject to certain restrictions.

In summary,

**Casual Singles and Doubles play outdoors is allowed to continue

**Clubhouse catering facilities must close from 3pm on Christmas Eve until further notice

**Coaching activities can take place outdoors with a maximum of 6 players per court with 4 on court at any one time.

We have sought guidance in relation to the opening of indoor courts during this level as no guidance has been issued, but are hopeful that they will be allowed to remain open on account of the announcement that Gyms and Swimming Pools can remain open.

It will likely be 24 hours before we get clarification from Sport Ireland on this matter.

Travel outside of one's county will continue to be permitted up to and including 26 December. Those staying away from their place of residence after that period will be permitted to travel to return to their place of residence.

From 27 December one must stay within their county unless there is a need to leave for essential purposes (as listed on https://www.gov.ie/en/publication/2dc71-level-5/?referrer=http://www.gov.ie/level5/#domestic-travel-restrictions )

We are finalising an updated guidelines document and hope to be in a position to issue it to clubs once we have received clarification on the indoor courts.

Thank you for your patience and support as always.

Regards

Richard Fahey
