Reminder Junior Hardcourt Handicap Championships 2023

Dear Parents / Guardians,

Reminder: The Junior Hardcourt Handicap Championships, will be starting on Monday 3rd April with Finals on Friday 7th April.

The Junior Hardcourt Handicap Championships have been running for the last few years and have been a success. They are a great way for players of all standards to compete against each other. We encourage as many of our Juniors to participate in the Championships.

The Championships will run as an elimination so the players will need to be available each day if they get through to the next round, with the Championship finals being held on the Friday 7th April.

Categories consist of Boys & Girls, singles and doubles over the various age groups. If you don’t have a partner for the doubles, we will endeavour to allocate one to you.

Entry fee: 1 Event: €7, 2 Events: €12

The Junior Handicaps will work as follows:

For U9 to U18 events, each player will be given a Handicap based on Internal round robins, leagues, tournaments, and observation from the coaching team. Handicaps will be set at -30, -15, Scratch (0-0), +15 and +30. For doubles we will also base the Handicaps on the same criteria as the singles of each partner. The U9 events will be a tie-break points system.

Supervisors will be on hand during that week to help all.

Rob Cherry, Tennis Professional will be working closely with the Junior Committee on the rankings for the Juniors for the Handicaps.

Easter Egg Hunt Tennis Social: Friday 14th April from 1-3pm

Easter Tennis Camp : Tuesday 11th April - Friday 14th April from 11am -1pm. Age 8-12year olds. Please Text Rob Cherry to register at 086 0715681.

  • Login and check you email address is correct.
