Junior Summer Tennis Actvities 2023

Dear Parent/Guardian

We are excited to outline the Junior Tennis programme during the School Summer holidays (Monday, 5 June to Friday, 25 August inclusive). We encourage our junior members to use the below events to have fun, meet other members and develop their tennis skills.

Rob Cherry and Victoria Gaidau are running a Fun Summer Tennis Camp for 8-10 and 11-14 years olds at Elm Park from Monday to Friday, 11:00am to 1:00pm, Weeks of June 12th, June 19th and June 26th.

Camps are available to members and non-members. Cost is €100 for members and €110 for non-members, paid by cash to Rob & Victoria on the first day. Spaces are limited to 24 per camp. A 48 hour cancellation policy is in place and the full camp fee is required.

THESE CAMPS ARE AIMED TOWARDS SOCIAL AND DEVELOPMENT PLAYERS. LOTS OF FUN, SKILLS DEVELOPMENT AND MATCH PRACTICE.

Weekdays only, Monday, June 12th to Friday, August 25th inclusive

(am, pm and all day options - 10am and 4pm)

We are pleased to offer supervised tennis during the summer school holidays to Junior Tennis members only. This is a great opportunity for Junior Tennis members to spend a good deal of the day participating in fun tennis games, meeting new and existing friends.

Supervised tennis will run each week day as per the table of activities above. We shall commence bookings week of Monday 5th June. This is on a first come first served paid basis and limited to 24 juniors each day. We plan to have a Payment system set up as we seek to phase out cash entry fees.

We are excited to have Christian Duffy, Stuart Atkinson, Andrea Gavin, Emily McCarthy, Hugh Kearney and Claire Corcoran as our Supervisors through the summer.

Junior Captains Emily McCarthy and Hugh Kearney are hosting their Summer social tennis event on Friday, July 14th. All juniors are welcome for a great afternoon of fun tennis games and food.

Monday, August 14th to Saturday, August 19th

The Junior Grasscourt Championships have been running for the last few years and have been such a success with the Juniors. We encourage as many of our Juniors to participate in the Championships. They are a great way for players of all standards to compete against each other.

The Championships will run from Monday, August 14th as an elimination so the players will need to be available each day if they get through to the next round, with the Championship finals being held on Saturday, August 19th.

Categories consist of Boys & Girls, singles and doubles over the various age groups. If you don’t have a partner for the doubles, we will endeavour to allocate one to you.

More details to follow in the coming weeks for the above events.
