Welcome back to play in Elm Park. The Captains appreciate how difficult the last few months have been and we very much look forward to having all our courts available for play across all categories of Members.
As you will appreciate safety has been our priority and at all times we have been guided by Tennis Ireland protocols.
On returning to play we would like to draw your attention to the following.
The Tennis Captains have been notified of a number of instances where Members playing on a Court failed to vacate that court promptly at the end of the booking period. These were instances where the Court was subsequently booked for the following hour causing inconvenience to the players involved in the subsequent booking. Failure to vacate the court on time is a breach of the Club Tennis rules.
We have also been informed of occasions when the Members vacating the Court did so with a degree of expressed reluctance.
We are attaching the Rules and urge all Members to familiarise themselves with same.
The club places a great emphasis on good court etiquette, the principle of "give what you would expect to receive", and on mutual respect among Members for all who play tennis in the Club.
We very much hope that a gentle reminder will be sufficient to ensure compliance with the Club Rules. We will monitor the situation.
